Jeff and Christine, along with their children Natalie (who is now married to Jon Oostdyk), Nick (presently working with YWAM in Australia), and Nathan joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in 1992. Until August 2002 they directed training schools at YWAM Tyler, Texas, then moved north to join YWAM Minneapolis. Jeff is presently serving as the director of training and Christine is serving in the areas of training and hospitality. Both of them taught English in China during the mid-80s.

The three-fold mission of YWAM Minneapolis is to DWELL-live as a nurturing community of believers, TRAIN-make disciples, and SEND-proclaim the Gospel to the nations. As we train, our goal is not simply to instruct our students, but to instill in each of them the character and passion of Christ.

Ministry Goals

We are called to disciple and train up a new generation of leaders, ministers, and missionaries who will take the gospel to the furthest corners of the world. We seek to do this through the formal YWAM training schools (Discipleship Training School and School of Evangelism) as well as the informal times of praying for, counseling, and encouraging young people who have a desire to give themselves completely to God. In summary, our goal is to express our love for Jesus through our obedience to Him in such a way that we will hear Him say to us one day, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Current Activity

At our YWAM center in Rockford, Minnesota we have been active in local and international outreach. We have sent more than 100,000 meals to Haiti through our Kids Against Hunger food packing program and have been sending outreach teams into Minneapolis. We are also working with local kids in an after-school tutoring ministry. In addition, we just had teams return from digging water wells in remote Amazon communities in Peru as well as serving the needes of lepers and the destitute in India. We are excited for all the things God is stirring in our staff and students, enlarging our hearts for all people. We look forward to see how he continues to lead.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for...

- The Holy Spirit's anointing on our Discipleship Training School and our School of Evangelism, for both the students and the staff

- The Holy Spirit's wisdom and guidance on our ministry's leaders as we seek to do all that God is calling us to do.

- God's anointing on our three children and new son in law as they develop their personal walk with God among their friends and all the places God leads them: Natalie, now married and seeking a job as an RN. Nick, on staff with YWAM in Brisbane, Australia, Nathan, who has just graduated from high school and will soon be attending a DTS in Florida.

- More people who would support our family and ministry through prayer and financial giving.

- God's continued provision for all our needs.

Special Projects and Events

We are asking God for more staff to join YWAM Minneapolis so that we can accomplish more of the things He is showing us He wants to do!

The Herringshaw family receives their entire income from the gifts and donations of those who believe in what they are called to do. We are non-salaried volunteers and are responsible to raise our own support for personal and ministry expenses.
